Vickerey is an e-retail company based in Boulder. Their products range from
hot yoga shirts to recycled art paper to Buddha Nose plant remedies. In addition
to print collateral and an e-newsletter, I'm working with them on a new look
for the site. With so many different collections and products, it's proving
to be an interesting challenge.

The Bighorn Center is a political policy foundation. After years with their
old site, they asked for a new look, reorganized content, and a streamlined
content management system. After a few tries, I came up with a design that
everyone liked, yet was flexible enough to incorporate content that was still
being written and organized.

High Plains Village is a McStain development north of Denver. The HOA asked
us to build an extranet to foster communication within the association and
community. The site features a robust CMS that gives the client full stylistic
control. Unfortunately, 95% of the site is password protected so you can't
really see much of it.

Hall & Evans, a long time client of Intellinet Interactive, asked for
a new look. Working with their existing logo, favorite mountain photo, and

added a CMS to the existing HTML site structure.

The city of Sterling needed a new site that streamlined access to their considerable
content yet worked around their legacy CMS. After cataloguing and reorganizing
the content and site architecture, I designed the site around their existing
logo and CMS limitations. To help manage design and html updates, the site
relies extensively on Dreamweaver templates.

Tangelo Ideas wanted a memorable way to pitch their services to Lt. Blender,
a pre-packaged drink business. As Lt. Blender's biggest seller was margaritas,
Tangelo decided a custom label on a bottle of Patron was the ideal delivery
method for their message. I worked closely with Tangelo's copy writer to
create these labels which combine the logos of the two companies.

it shows ingenuity and a clever concept. It's also fun.

What do I do?
I primarily design web sites but also enjoy print projects.
I typically do it in Studio 8, CS2, and a comfy pair of khaki's.
Take a look at my resumé
.
I've worked with the Colorado Trust, Denver Regional Council of Governments,
the Bighorn Center, the city of Winter Park, and Hall & Evans among others.
How did I get here?
Design is a second career for me. After doodling in the margins through countless
management meetings, working with a web designer during an IT stint, and
a road trip through the southwest, I decided to return to school to study
design in 2000. As there were no design schools in Austin, I moved to Denver.
I've been working with agencies and as a freelancer ever since.
If you're looking for a less existential answer, I walked down the hall,
through the doorway into my office.
What sets me apart from other designers?
Modesty of epic proportions. If they were to erect a colossal monument
to modesty, it would feature me.
What should you know about me?
- I am for hire.
- Design blows my skirt up, even while wearing khaki's.
- I'm quiet without being particularly shy.
- For visual impact, nothing beats the judicious use of Flash except elegant
simplicity.
- My sense of humor ranges from martini dry sarcasm to goofball with little
transition or warning.
- I prefer honest feedback. It has the highest content of useful information.
- Curiosity killed the cat, but so far I've escaped serious injury.
- I love books, travel, the mountains, black coffee, and at the moment
the idea of a road trip.
- I do all my left brain thinking on my right side and vice versa. It tingles.
- For a variety of reasons, you'll enjoy working with me.
